Runner

Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

I am a runner. I may be awkward; I may be slow; I may be ridiculous, but I am still a runner. Running reminds me that I am alive. That God has given me a body with fully functioning arms, legs, and core. That even with weak lungs, I can endure. When I push myself beyond my perceived limits, I remember that it is God at work in me, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. I can do ANYTHING through Christ who gives me strength (Philippians 1:6, 4:13) To run is to remember Jesus is waiting for me at the finish line, and nothing is impossible when I look to Him.

Happy Birthday to me!

Even though Brian had to be in New Jersey, I had a great birthday. I spent the evening with my personal fashion consultants...and we managed to have some fun!

Beauty and Love Covers All this Valentine's Weekend

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we always remembered that Jesus told us to love one another? All the little slights and hurts could be covered over the way this weekend's snow in Georgia covered the landscape. Everything looked beautiful and clean, and even thought is didn't last, if was a brief reminder of how love covers us and makes us beautiful and clean in the eyes of the Father.

Global Warming?

I'm thinking not so much.  It's been cold!  I shouldn't complain, since much of the country is seeing unprecedented snowfall, but this is the South--and winters are supposed to be fairly mild. So far it's been cold and rainy most of 2010. Today I drove to the gym through snow flurries. The meterologists say that the next three weeks hold little chance for a warm up.

I know, though, that Spring always follows Winter, and this too shall pass. I'll sure be glad when it does!

Photoshop Elements Fun

This is a photo of Marvy ink pads and color dusters that I took today at the Heirloom Productions Rubber Stamp Festival in Lawrenceville, GA. I posterized it first and then used the "extrude" filter on it.

Cool, huh?
